I forgot to mention Quest is estimated to produce in 2016.

They are the closest "heavy", being at avg of 47% to Ucore's 50%, but my bet is Ucore beats Quest to production by a worst case of at least a year.

And you still have to have the correct heavies of the group.

Avalon, i don't remeber what their timeline is, but their cap-x is close to $1b now.

Either way, the U.S. needs to get it in gear !!

good question[what level REE will western industry support?]

the answer may lie within the age old advice--"follow the money". who has the money? where are they spending it?

" Quest Rare Minerals, of Canada, plans to produce heavy rare earths, which are less often found. Peter Cashin, chief executive, said: “I would suggest that not many of the light rare earth explorers will survive.”

---------------------
Along the Heavies theme : if Ucore stays at even only 50%, they'll have more combined than the next 5 companies, including Avalon.

Their latest news dosen't include Sunday Lake results where they have initial drill results of 95% heavies.

HREO to TREO comparisons :

Ucore page 7 :
http://ucoreraremetals.com/pictures/Ucore%20Presentation%20April%2019%202010_web(4).pdf

Avalon page 37 :
http://www.avalonraremetals.com/_resources/Corporate_Presentation_10_09_13.pdf

Also, look at page 38 on Avalon and notice what the others have for Heavies.
And notice how little Molycorp has. Basically, Moly can't back up Ucore being it's a primarily HREE, but Ucore has Molycorp's REE's.

Looks like the predicitons of a "light" oversupply, won't turn out to be just predictions.

What other U.S. based REE up and comer has as much, or more, U.S. Govt. activity than Ucore ?

As Ucore and Mr. Lifton have said, Terbium / Dysprosium.

Ucore on September 2, 2010 : " Of particular interest are terbium and dysprosium, which are among the most scarce and valuable metals in the world, and which have been found in anomalously high grades in the Bokan area. "The U.S. government is quite interested in these minerals because they are of military importance," said Dr. Mariano. "

Avoiding numerous hints about "lights" and it might be to someones peril down the road.

It's remarkable that it seems that every junior is now to become a process/refiner. So, how many 10K+ TPA refinery operations will the western REE economy support outside of Asia?
GWG is securing its upstream as it should.
Are we seeing some market mining?
