Now I hear that the Senate Armed Services Committee has asked the DOD to do a study on its own needs and report by March 2011??!!

By the time we get their report we will be in serious trouble. And the preliminary rumblings I have heard are to the effect that DOD doesn’t think there IS a problem.

I note that Toyota isn’t sitting around waiting for the Japanesse MITI to take care of things. They’ve locked up a couple of sources.

I call for US companies to stop waiting for the federal government to do something and emulate Toyota in that regard.
