Jack / Gareth - just a quick question on your statement in the above article:
"... of 80 applications for rare-earth production operating licenses received since the reforms began earlier this decade, the Chinese government has selected just 15 that conform to the New Environmental standards..."

When you say earlier this decade, I assuming you're talking since 2010?

@Phil Studer: Because I don't consider samarium (Sm) to be a critical rare earth, and neither does the US Department of Energy.
Why is there no mention of Samarium ?? It was the first RE super magnet material, slightly less powerful than Nd at room temperature but has better temperature characteristics without Dy.

Good point.

According to their just released presentation the JORC looks to be out mid-2012. I look forward to your thoughts after that. Thank you.

@Positroll: yes, some coverage of zirconium would make sense - will see what we can do on that :-)

@SouthernX: To my knowledge, Northern Minerals has not yet published a JORC-compliant mineral-resource estimate, have they? I generally don't get interested in projects until they have such estimates. With over 240 companies operating in this space, that's way too much noise for a supply-chain guy like me, and NI-43-101- / JORC-compliant mineral-resource estimates are my first filter for separating the wheat from the chaff.

@JR: Thank you for your comments.

Gareth - Good interview and very informative as always. I have posted this link on the Rare Earth Elements (REE) Group on Linked In.

As well, you should call Chris G over at Commerce Resources Corp. (TSXv:CCE) and have him provide an in-person update and get on their next site visit to Eldor.
