I agree with Rich and Jack. I also hope the federal government does not get involved. These metals are very important for our military technology and economic growth concerning consumer and industrial products.

Utah has Billions of tons of Rare Earth Elements but they are tied up in or close to Wilderness Study Areas that are not being studied by anyone. So is Lisa Murkowski's proposal going to help loosen up areas of mineral interests? Or is the GOV JUST PUTTING ON A SHOW?

Mr. Boral may be a booster, but he clearly does not know much about REE processing: his dismissing the complexity and cost of what amounts to fine chemistry as "as basically a large warehouse with a series of washing tanks that use different chemical reagents" borders on crimanally ignorant.

I am as pleased as anyone that we are finally turning our (American) attention to what our short sightedness has wrought, but underplaying what is involved or how soon it will take for these projects to get up and running and really producing REOs is going to take far longer than the market is pricing in.
