VitalSpark: to my knowledge Molycorp does not have the capacity to refine separated oxides into individual metals and subsequently into alloys. There has been some discussion about them acquiring that capability but I am not sure where they are at in that process (beyond planning to work with Hitachi Metals on certain magnetic alloy production).

I am hoping to do an interview with the CEO of Molycorp, Mark Smith, in the next future, and this question is on my list to discuss with him. Will let you know what we hear back.

I understand that Molycorp wil be producing ore within a couple of years and will also build a concentrator. Do they have the capacity to refine the individual RE metals or will they be selling the concentrate?
I understand that Lynas is building what they call the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) which according to Lynas remains on track for first production of Rare Earths in the third quarter of 2011. How is Molycorp doing in this respect?
