I recently updated the list of projects on the TMR Advanced Rare-Earth Projects Index, to reflect one new rare-earth mineral-resource estimate that was announced recently. I also made some other updates. The specifics:
- Peak Resources Ltd (ASX:PEK) announced a JORC-compliant mineral-resource estimate for its Ngualla project in Tanzania, on February 29, 2012. According to the associated press release, 29 Mt of the resource is at the Measured level @ 2.61% TREO, 69 Mt is at the Indicated level @ 2.43% TREO and 72 Mt is at the Inferred level @ 2.24% TREO (all at a cut-off grade of 1 wt% TREO).
I have also updated the pricing used in the Index data, to reflect the average monthly prices for February 2012 and the moving three-year average price for separated rare-earth oxides.
In addition, to the new projects above, three companies with projects on the Index announced updates to their existing resource estimates:
FYI, TMR is now tracking a total of 426 rare-earth projects under development associated with 259 different companies in 36 different countries.
You can access the updated details via the Index page.

VERY GOOD .. I DO EXPLOR FOR BLACK SANDS , THEY HAVE LOW PPM , OF REE , BUT THEY ARE FAST TO CONCENTATE , AND THE MINERAL DEPOCIT ARE LARGE WE DO HAVE 287 PPM TREE I HOPE SOON TO BE A PART OF THE ESTADISTICS OF THE RE . GRACIAS.
Gareth,
As this list continues to grow, surely your anticipation for Innnovation Metals’ proposed facility is growing as well. Have you learned any more about the metallurgies of the various North American/Canadian deposits and how well they might integrate in the S/X ? Can you even get your hands on test results, or actual samples of the various orebodies? Just curious about how that part of the cracking is coming along, because any one of these deposits might prove to be easier to deal with.
Hello Dear Gareth
Your IMC project looks good ! However … don’t you think that for the heavy rare earth projects from north america / canada … the big deal is to perform the extraction of rare earth from weird minerals such as eudyalite or pyrochlores … rather than separating the heavies from a nice 99% HREE carbonate ? ….
Another question that comes to my mind … while acquiring Neo, did Molycorp get an access to a HREE separation from the Neo’s plant in China, that could be applied to any HREE concentrate coming from north american / canadian projects ?
happy announcement..who every is interesting in rare earth sector .
watch for news, following up soon..a new product based on RARE is coming up. entering the US market it is what it was design initially.
unfortunately from China but that is the reality
will post link soon
