I have just updated the list of projects on the TMR Advanced Rare-Earth Projects Index, to reflect two new rare-earth mineral resource estimates, which were announced within the past month or so. I also made some other updates. The specifics:
- Geomega Resources Inc. (TSX.V:GMA) announced an NI-43-101-compliant mineral-resource estimate for its Montviel (Core Zone) project in Quebec, Canada, on September 29, 2011. According to the associated press release, 183.9 Mt of the resource is at the Indicated level @ 1.45 wt% TREO, and 66.7 Mt is at the Inferred level @ 1.46 wt% TREO (both at a cut-off grade of 1.0 wt%).
- Rare Earth Metals Inc. (TSX.V:RA, OTCQX:RAREF) announced an NI-43-101-compliant mineral-resource estimate for its Clay-Howells project in Canada, on September 27, 2011. According to the associated press release, 8.477 Mt of the resource is at the Inferred level @ 0.73 wt% TREO (at a cut-off grade of 0.6 wt%).
- I have also updated the pricing used in the Index data, to reflect the average monthly prices for September 2011 and the moving three-year average price for separated rare-earth oxides.
FYI, TMR is now tracking a total of 393 rare-earth development projects associated with 244 different companies in 35 different countries.
You can access the updated details via the Index page.
One last reminder: Jack and I are hosting the TMR Rare Earths Boot Camp in Toronto next week – during October 31 – November 1, 2011. This will be an intensive, two-day educational program for technical, financial, investment and policy-making professionals, focused on teaching the fundamentals of the rare-earths sector. The event features a world-class, independent expert faculty, who will draw from their decades of experience to teach specific aspects of the rare-earths lifecycle, at a level that everyone can understand.
We have a handful of places left – for the details, click on the link on the upper right-hand side of this page, or visit http://www.rareearthsbootcamp.com to get more details and to register.

Hi Gareth,
Keep up the good work. Love to come to your boot camp but just cannot make it this time.
Dr Chandra Durve
Hi Gareth
Just wondering if you have recently had a look at Nothern minerals in Australia. They just announced outstanding results at there Browns Range including 33m at 1.5% and earlier results of 40m at 1% of HREEs including mainly dysprosium and yttrium
Gareth,
Two questions. First, thank you for providing details on 22 projects under development, but is there any information on the other 367 projects you mention? Second, do you know where I can find information on the project in Vietnam (Mau Xe North & South, I think)? My understanding is that it is supposed to come online in 2012/13, but little has been publicized about it.
Thanks
I can ses Clay-Howells but not Montviel in the table and chart. I thought they should both be there?
@Chjandra Durve: thanks :-)
@Shaun ohalloran: yes, we’re aware of the Browns Range project.
@Jon Pesek: we do offer info on the other projects but not as part of the “free” section of the Web site. Drop me a line if you want to know more via ghatch@techmetalsresearch.net .
@Dave: how bizarre – when I finished things up last night Montviel was listed. I see now that it’s not there, and my updates to the other projects are not there either. Some sort of technical glitch – will get it sorted this morning. My apologies!
OK – I have updated the page (again!) – hopefully the changes will stick this time! :-)
@Gareth – Pages look OK now, many thanks for providing this data.
