I recently updated the TMR Advanced Graphite Projects Index, to reflect a new mineral-resource estimate which were announced recently. I also made some other updates. The effective date of the updates is February 14, 2013. The specifics:
- On January 23, 2013, Syrah Resources Ltd. (ASX:SYR) announced a maiden JORC-compliant resource estimate for its Balama West project in Mozambique. According to the associated press release, the project has two high-grade zones: for the Ativa Zone, 20.7 Mt of the resource is at the Inferred level @ 20.8% Cg (at a cut-off grade of 13% Cg); for the Mualia Zone, 136.1 Mt is at the Inferred level @ 16.6% Cg (at a cut-off grade of 5% Cg). The same press release included data for the Balama West as a whole, which once the two high-grade zones are accounted for, leaves an additional 409.3 Mt of the resource at the Inferred level @ 6.9% Cg (at a cut-off grade of 5%).
You can access the updated details via the Index page.
The Index currently consists of 19 graphite mineral resources, associated with 17 advanced graphite projects, 16 different companies and located in 10 different regions within 7 different countries. Including the projects on the Index, TMR is currently monitoring a total of 204 graphite projects under development associated with 101 different companies in 21 different countries.
Disclosure: at the time of writing, Gareth Hatch holds no shares or stock options in any of the companies mentioned in this article, or in any publicly traded graphite company, nor is he doing paid consulting for any such company.

Dear Gareth Hatch
this is really for appreciation to monitor 204 graphite projects in different level of development!!!
Thank you, you contact me again after time – because December/12 and January/13 I was working in the North Korea to try innovate and increase quantity and quality or magnesite CCM… Frankly spacing, in that communist system it is impossible (machineries from 50-ties, corruption and smuggling is enormous!). No internet connection, not allowed to call to family (Christmas Time…), no food!!!, electric power only 3hr per day – have a look my profile. Now I recovery myself (a little bit) and seeking a new job – I will detailly come through you list of companies and I address appropriate ones…

Hi Gareth,
I am trying to calibrate the latest version of my hand held XRF. Do you know anyone that might be kind enough to provide me with small samples of known grade so that I may calibrate my machine?
For Chandra Pal Dixit,,,
not sure if this helps,,, i’m not a scientist
