I recently updated the list of projects on the TMR Advanced Rare-Earth Projects Index, to reflect a number of updates. The effective date of the updates is February 15, 2013. The specifics:
- On November 1, 2012, Search Minerals Inc. (TSX.V:SMY) announced an updated NI 43-101-compliant mineral-resource estimate for the Foxtrot project in Canada. According to the associated press release, 9.2 Mt of the resource is at the Indicated level @ 1.06% TREO and 5.2 Mt is at the Inferred level @ 0.93% TREO (each at a cut-off grade of 150 ppm Dy2O3).
- On January 23, 2013, Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. (TSX.V:GWG, OTCQX:GWMGF) announced an updated NI 43-101-compliant mineral-resource estimate for the Steenkampskraal project in South Africa. According to the associated press release, 176 kt of the resource is at the Indicated level @ 18.2% TREO and 278 kt is at the Inferred level @ 15.2% TREO (each at a cut-off grade of 1% TREO).
- On February 7, 2013, Rare Earth Metals Inc. announced a name change to Canada Rare Earth Corp. (TSX.V:LL).
With this update, The Index currently consists of 49 rare-earth mineral resources, associated with 45 advanced rare-earth projects and 43 different companies, located in 31 different regions within 14 different countries.
I have also updated the pricing used in the Index data, to reflect the average monthly prices for January 2013.
You can access the updated details via the Index page.
Disclosure: at the time of writing, Gareth Hatch holds no shares or stock options in any of the companies mentioned in this article, or in any publicly traded rare-earth company, nor is he doing paid consulting for any such company.

I purchased the TMR Rare Earth Boot Camp 2011 DVD set at the end of last year. While the presentations are very good, I do have some additional questions that i would like to have addressed by some of the presenters. Is there a way to do this? If so, please let me know how to do that. If not, can you arrange to provide such a method? It would add greatly to the value of the DVDs. Thanks.
Gareth, hello. Example of your message:
I recently updated the list of projects on the TMR Advanced Rare-Earth Projects Index to reflect three new rare-earth mineral-resource estimate and two updates to existing estimates. This takes us to 39 projects in 13 different countries on the list, as of May 31, 2012. I have also updated the pricing data that we use, to reflect the average monthly prices for May 2012, and the moving three-year average price for separated rare-earth oxides.
I sent out a note about the updates several days ago but apparently some folks never got it – so my apologies if you are seeing this for a second time. You can check out the details at http://www.barnswood.com/tmr/wp/?p=5575
and as ever, your comments and questions are welcome – feel free to post them at the above link. That’s it for now! best wishes Gareth
Let us treat the patient. Often measured by the temperature-useless. Proposed Project: $ 1,500 to the analysis of 30 samples = estimate for rare items 220 000 sq km. (Canada, British Columbia) – Detail – exploration and sale of the deposit. Income of 50% / 50%. Example-Fraser. Gennady.
Dear Gareth,
Thanks for this tremendous job so detailed. However, all projects are somehow concentrated in well known areas and regions; i last time suggested that you look at the DR Congo region for any rare earth mining project if you could find an interested investor; do you have any interesting data for the DR Congo yet; i would very much appreciate if you can enlighten me in this particular topic…Best regars
It
Hi Gareth,
My appologies. I think I made a mistake by placing my request for samples of REO’S for my XRF calibration on the graphite section! So am posting the request again!
I am trying to calibrate the latest version of my hand held XRF. Do you know anyone that might be kind enough to provide me with small samples of known grade so that I may calibrate my machine? Thanks
Dr Chandra. Durve
I couldn’t help but notice prices do not appear to have changed significantly from the previous update. Any comment on a potential bottome for some REEs or any other insights?
